Carson City Deputy Sheriff’s Association establishes fund for fallen officer Carl Howell

It is with a very heavy heart that I ask our community to come together and support our law enforcement agency. On August 15, 2015 the unthinkable happened to a member of our organization.

Deputy Carl Howell a veteran officer of nine years was fatally shot in the line of duty while investigating a domestic battery in Carson City. Carl leaves behind a loving wife and four children who also need our support, thoughts and prayers as they negotiate through the most horrific time in their lives.

This horrific event has taken a large toll on all members of our organization with unthinkable sadness. If you see a Deputy let them know you support them by a simple wave.

All members of our organization will continue to put one foot in front of the other as we conduct our day to day operations. All members will continue to provide the utmost professional service to our community
On behalf of the Carson City Deputy Sheriff’s Association (CCDSA) I am asking for the public’s help.

A donation account has been established at Heritage Bank of Nevada, “Carl Howell Memorial Fund” or account # 2000012522.

Carl, you will be greatly missed, always in our hearts and never forgotten by all your brothers and sisters. We have the watch from here, rest in peace our brother (5466) EOW 08/15/15.

This is a tragic reminder of the sacrifice all officers make as they lay their lives on the line every day in protecting our community.

Sincerely,
Don Gibson
President CCDSA
